The government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines joins the overwhelming majority of the international community in opposing the proposal announced by the government of the United States of America to cleanse the Palestinian territory of Gaza of its two million inhabitants, relocate them forcibly elsewhere, and build "an America Riviera" for non-Palestinians in Gaza.

The Member States of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - People' s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) categorically condemn the actions taken by the U.S. administration aimed at committing the illegal seizure of the Venezuelan company CITGO Petroleum Corporation.

Today, May 21, 2024, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves called on the new Taiwanese president, H.E Dr. Lai Ching-te at the Office of the President in Taipei. The president expressed gratitude to Dr. Gonsalves and the people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines for sending humanitarian assistance in the aftermath of the recent devastating earthquakes in Taiwan.

This morning, May 21st, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines signed a joint statement on the establishing of a Sister-City Relationship between Taipei City and Kingstown. The signing ceremony took place at Le Méridien Taipei, 10:30 a.m., after Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves met and held discussions with the Mayor of Taipei Dr. Wayne Chiang.
