Three new countries have now been added to the list of diplomatic allies of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines with the signing of documents establishing diplomatic relations.
Prime Minister Dr. Hon Ralph .E. Gonsalves is currently out of state attending the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly being convened at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
A visiting High-Level delegation from the European Commission, met with Prime Minister Dr Hon Ralph Gonsalves, members of his cabinet and senior public servants on Thursday 19th September 2019. The delegation, lead by Mr Stefano Manservisi; The Director General for International Cooperation and Development, held discussions with the local team headed by Prime Minister Gonsalves to assess the status of the partnership between the European Union and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines as well as visit a number of projects financed by the European Union.
Prime Minister Dr Hon Ralph Gonsalves left the country on Thursday September 5, 2019 on an official visit to the Republic of India that would see him spending 5 days in that country. Dr Gonsalves is making this visit to India, in response to two separate activities that he is expected to participate in over the period.
On Monday July 22, 2019, a special envoy from the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD); Vincentian, Dr Richard Byron-Cox made a special call on Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves to deliver an invitation on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the UNCCD, Ibrahim Thiaw. Dr Byron-Cox is currently on a regional mission to several CARICOM member countries encouraging their participation in the Conference of the Parties (COP) of the UNCCD.
