Today, May 21, 2024, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves called on the new Taiwanese president, H.E Dr. Lai Ching-te at the Office of the President in Taipei. The president expressed gratitude to Dr. Gonsalves and the people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines for sending humanitarian assistance in the aftermath of the recent devastating earthquakes in Taiwan.
This morning, May 21st, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines signed a joint statement on the establishing of a Sister-City Relationship between Taipei City and Kingstown. The signing ceremony took place at Le Méridien Taipei, 10:30 a.m., after Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves met and held discussions with the Mayor of Taipei Dr. Wayne Chiang.

The Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines was on Tuesday, 27th June, 2023 granted a total of 21 scholarships by the Republic of Cuba. The scholarships that are for the 2023/24 academic year, are available for Vincentian students to pursue graduate and postgraduate studies at Cuban universities.
